October 2009
The 2009 Subaru Forester has received one of the industries most prestigious awards, the Motor Trnd SUV of the Year award.
Subaru has managed to combine a fuel effeicient SUV (20/26 mpg) with a 170 horsepower engine that will more than get out of it's own way. The turbo version of the Subaru Forester ramps up to 224 hp and averages nearly 20 mpg. It partial zero-emmisions classification adds to the overal "Green" status of this fine SUV.
The Forester also boast some of the largest driver, passenger, and cargo areas in it's segment. The ground clearance of the Fortester (8.7 inches) beats nearly every SUV/CUV in it's class.
The fact that a new 2009 Forester can be picked up under $20,000 with a bit of negotiating makes it an even better offering.
With these type of accoladates, the value of a Certified Subaru Pre-owned Forester is also enhanced. With the amount of positive press this vehicle has received in an almost 100% negative market, loof for used car values of the Forester and other Certifed Subaru products to hold nicely even in this economy.
For a small, nichey car company, Subaru is doing a fantastic job holding up in today's rough economic climate. Subaru still maintains yeay over year sales gains, in major part to the 2009 Forrester, where nearly every other manufacturer is down if not being mentioned in conslidation conversations.
Subaru is also involved in a heavy dose of search engine marketing for it's entire lineup. They are pushing forward in a market that seems to be putting it's head in the sand.
All in all, the Subaru brand and image has done nothing but raise it's level to new heights with the advent of the new 2009 Subaru Forester.
